WE believe that God challenges us to embrace the diversity that God has placed in each of us at our creation as part of our
sacred value.
WE believe that we are called by God to recognize injustice and unfairness and work towards reconciliation and right-relationship
in our lives, in our neighborhood and in our world.
WE believe that God's hope for us in our faith journey is to continually open our hearts to the fullness of God's love
and reflect that love to everyone we encounter so that through our faithful living we may witness, and witness to, God's promise
of new community.
WE affirm that the invitation, welcome, hospitality and full participation in the life, leadership, mission and ministry
of this faith community is extended to all persons of any age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnic background,
socio-economic status and physical and mental ability.

The Reconciling Congregation Movement was conceived in 1983 by members of Affirmation, a group of United Methodists for
lesbian, gay, and bisexual concerns. The program was publicly announced at the General Conference of the United Methodist
Church in May of 1984.
The Reconciling Ministries Network is a national grassroots organization that exists to enable full participation of
people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church, both in policy and in
practice.
The Reconciling Ministries Network in an independent, not for profit organization with no official ties to the United
Methodist Church. However, the work of the RMN and our decision to affiliate with the RMN is supported and informed by a long
tradition of social justice work by United Methodists over the last few centuries.
At New Community United Methodist Church we do our best to live out our statement of inclusivity because we believe it
is part of God's hope for all God's people and a very important part of living out our church's mission statement.
